Professional Bio
My approach to counselling is rooted in person centred therapy. I believe in the goodness in people, and that everyone given the right tools has the ability to be at their best. I empower my clients to have the autonomy of choice in their own lives while giving them the tools to make those choices. All while considering their personal value system. Does this feel aligned with my values? Is this who I want to be?
I work with an integrated model and borrow techniques from some of the following theories, Feminist Theory, Existential Therapy, Cognitive Behaviour Therapy, and Person-Centred Therapy. I work with adults and youth who are looking for support in their day to day lives. I have a passion for incorporating techniques from cognitive behaviour therapy that support anxiety, depression, and other mood disorders. Some of those techniques include, relaxation techniques, mindfulness, journaling, cognitive restructuring and much more.
