Nature Focused, Activity Based Counselling for Children and Youth
Specializing in child and youth mental health, family and childhood trauma, the impacts from childhood abuse/sexual abuse/ACEs, and overall social/emotional/mental wellness.
The Finding My Path program is rooted in nature-based approaches and provides strength-based counselling support to children and youth in Quesnel and the surrounding North Cariboo area.
Through a trauma informed and client centered lens, the most common strategies used include elements of play therapy, creativity and art therapy, animal therapy, components of CBT, as well as guided meditations and yoga. With a strong focus on activity and time spent in nature, Finding My Path works from a Life Space Intervention perspective while integrating psycho-educational components in order to help children and youth find their own paths to healing and wellness.
Typically, services are recommended for at least 6 months to 1 year (or longer) if found to be a good fit, effective, and beneficial. Finding My Path also offers group work and therapeutic yoga when available/applicable.
