Professional Bio
Maya has been working in the counselling field for almost 20 years. Her major focus is on trauma, traumatic stress and the impact of stress on daily functioning. She is working as a manager of counselling services at a non-for-profit agency in Burnaby and offers psychotherapy in private practice. Maya has been providing successful clinical supervision to students from VCC and VCCT in the past ten years. She holds a PhD degree in Psychology. Maya is also registered with BC Association fo Clinical Counsellors.
Maya has been trained in the approaches, such as DBT, EMDR, assertiveness training, mindfulness, CBT, conflict resolution, effective leadership strategies, etc. Over the years she supported many clients with PTSD, complex trauma, DID, anxiety and depression.
