Professional Bio
My name is Jaicee Chartrand, and I am a Cree Metis person currently living and working in Winipīhk on Treaty 1 Territory (Winnipeg, Manitoba). I am a humanistic therapist who works from a positive psychology framework. I hold the belief that, as humans, we have free will, our unique perspectives matter, and we are inherently motivated and culpable to fulfill our internal needs and individual potential.
I am a Registered Professional Counsellor with CPCA (RPC) and Certified Indigenous Addictions Specialist (CIAS-II) with over fifteen years of experience in mental health, addictions, social services, and private practice sectors. I also hold Specializations in Abnormal Psychology and Conflict Management. While I welcome everyone with mental health goals, I particularly enjoy working with and creating safe spaces for people struggling with addiction, those in the 2SLGBTQ* community, those struggling with attachment trauma, and those in polyamorous ethical non-monogamy relationships (relationship styles and identities will be affirmed and supported).
Our work together will be a collaborative process rooted in authenticity and empowerment.
