Professional Bio
Emma Patenaude was born and raised in the Lloydminster community and has experience working in the field of mental health in a variety of settings. She has a Bachelor of Arts Degree in Psychology, a Master of Arts in Counselling Psychology, and is a Registered Professional Counsellor (RPC) with the Canadian Professional Counsellors Association and a Registrant (CCPCPR) with the Canadian College of Professional Counsellors and Psychotherapists. Emma has over 8 years of experience working in various areas such as: trauma, anxiety, grief, anger management, self-esteem, addiction, communication, mental health capacity building in schools, psychoeducation, family work, children, groups, individuals, and couples counselling. Emma prioritizes continuing education and is always finding ways to expand her skills and knowledge to best serve her clients. She is trained in EMDR which is a specialized training to treat trauma and other presenting concerns such as anxiety, grief, phobias, and more. Emma employs a variety of counselling techniques to meet the diverse needs of her clients including but not limited to: client-centered, solution-focused, strengths-based, biopsychosocial, and cognitive-behavioural therapy. Emma has always had a passion for helping people become the best version of themselves. She brings empathy, respect, and compassion into every counselling session to help foster a healthy therapeutic relationship with her clients. Emma hopes that you will welcome her to join you on your healing journey to help you achieve your mental health and wellness goals. Emma offers daytime sessions during the week. She is covered under many benefit plans, but you are encouraged to check to see if her RPC or CCPCPR designations will be covered under your plan.
